本剧改编自北川悦吏子的同名小说，透过最后的旅程，深入探讨“人生为何而活”的主题，讲述了佐仓陆曾是外科医生，但突然变得无法拿起手术刀，之后因心理问题被调至内科。住院患者中的成濑翔被宣告寿命将近，陆就是他的主治医生，而成濑对手术和治疗感到疲倦，提出由陆结束他的生命。二人决定逃离医院，骑摩托车展开旅行，体验野营、探访故乡、与初恋相见，成濑虽时常病倒，但有陆陪伴感到安心，然而，小陆却私藏着一种特效药...。A group of students who are participating in a university's summer science camp are drawn into an incredible quagmire of conflicts, ranging from the relatively simple conflict between an engaging and forthright young teacher and his older manipulative colleague, to a contest pitting political correctness against free scientific inquiry.
