某疯狂科学家因儿子感染艾滋病死亡而精神失常，他命令助手四处绑架人带到私人货柜船龙宝号上进行活体实验。警局督察长发叔先后派人数次登船搜集证据，最后皆以失败告终。 在夜总会演杂耍的石罅米自幼研习武功，成年后进入特种大队，却因被指控有虐待倾向而离开警队，永不录用。如今他独自抚养三个孩子，生活倒也快乐。某晚演出时，他和好友老虎仔目睹并插手一起绑架事件。由此将麻烦引到自己身上，而另一方面，发叔发现石罅米和一个与疯狂科学家有勾结的日本人容貌相似，遂拟定了一个计划……。近未来，人类工业文明高度发达，智能机器人的技术日新月异，并且正逐渐成为社会运转推动时代进步的重要组成部分。可就在某一天，一枚核弹落在旧金山。人类指控智能机器人制造了这场悲剧，于是拉开了和机器人旷日持久的战争。数年之后，美国耗费巨资打造了名为“游牧者”的舰艇，随时随地摧毁人工智能的巢穴。而在当时，只有新亚洲仍有人工智能的据点。特种部队探员约书亚（约翰·大卫·华盛顿 John David Washington 饰）潜入新亚洲，并与监控的对象玛雅（嘉玛·陈 Gemma Chan 饰）结为夫妇。可在一次行动之后，他与知晓他真实身份的玛雅失之交臂。时间又过了五年，约书亚奉命随队迁入新亚洲寻找人工智能的创造者。 可是这一次，他却成为了背叛者……。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
